In August 2006, I weighed 245 pounds—and at my heaviest, I had reached 275 pounds. Over the past 18 months, I have lost 85 pounds through a complete transformation in my diet and a renewed commitment to exercise.
It all started when I began working from home in the computer IT support field. With more flexibility in my schedule, I had the time to focus on eating well. My wife was away for eight months caring for her sick father, which gave me the opportunity to reset my eating habits. Instead of the ham, cornbread, and rich desserts I grew up on, I transitioned to a diet of vegetables, fish, turkey, and chicken. I cut out milk, bread, Pop-Tarts, and cereals—my former staples—and began drinking 64 ounces of Evian water daily. I also made small but impactful changes, like using only red wine vinegar as a condiment and eating low-sodium tuna straight from the can. The pounds began melting away.
I have always been an avid cyclist, and I intensified my biking routine—riding a 10-mile loop daily and doing 20 to 60 miles on weekends with friends. This not only strengthened my body but also provided incredible cardio benefits. Additionally, I incorporated challenging hill walks, which helped accelerate my progress. By January, when I picked up my wife from the airport, she didn’t even recognize me! Seeing her thrilled about my progress gave me even more motivation to keep going.
The Game-Changer: Training with Walter
I first saw Walter training a group of women in a nearby park, and I was amazed by the intensity and creativity of his workouts. I knew that if I wanted to reach my peak level of fitness, I needed to work with him. Walter transformed my training. He took fitness beyond the gym and used the natural environment as my gym—tree limbs, stone walls, steps, and laps around the park became my workout equipment. This constantly changing routine kept my workouts fresh, challenging, and exciting. Walter’s approach made every session unique, and I never felt bored.
The Results: A Complete Transformation
Today, I weigh 162 pounds—down from 275! I’ve gone from wearing size 40 pants and extra-large shirts to a size 30 waist and small/medium shirts—unbelievable!
Walter’s training, meal plans, and food logs helped me drop the last 20+ pounds and reduce my body fat from 14% to just 6%. I’ve built an incredibly strong core, improved my cardiovascular endurance, and developed the muscular strength needed to complete 100-mile and even 200-mile bike marathons without issue.
I could not have achieved this without Walter’s expertise, motivation, and innovative training methods. His approach—combined with my dedication—has helped me look and feel better than ever in my life. Thank you, Walter, for helping me become my best self!
