Agatha Loses Over 30 Pounds Doing Virtual Bootcamp in Finland

I started training with Walter about three years ago. But let’s be honest—that first year was full of excuses and inconsistency with both food and exercise. When I was preparing to move to Finland, my biggest concern was whether virtual training would actually work for me—especially with a 7-hour time difference. Every time I’ve moved to a new country, I’ve gained weight, and Finland has been no exception. The winters here are harsh—freezing temperatures and only about three hours of daylight—so I spent a lot of time indoors… and eating more than I should.

The couple of months before I left the States, combined with the first few months of getting settled in Finland, added up to six months of barely showing up. Maybe once a week at best. I had excuse after excuse for why I didn’t have time, even though I wasn’t working. Yes, I was busy getting the house and kids settled, but still—I could’ve done more.

The 10 pounds I had lost training with you in the States all came back. By the time Christmas rolled around (about a year and a half ago), I was overwhelmed and right back at my heaviest.

But through all of it, you kept saying, “JUST SHOW UP.” And eventually, I did.

Now, not only do I show up consistently, but because your workouts are so well-rounded, I’m stronger and able to do more. I’ve even started mixing in other activities—swimming, cross-country skiing, long-distance walks, and even an occasional jog. The embassy also offers a Pilates class every Tuesday, which works out perfectly since there’s no live bootcamp that day.

I had serious doubts about virtual training. I’ve always been the queen of binge eating and excuses. But not only did it work—it changed everything. By simply showing up consistently, I’ve reached a point where not a single day goes by without me working out. The best part? I just click, Zoom in from my own home, and go for it!
