As a professional, it can be hard enough to find time to take a minute for a bite to eat, let alone trying to figure out how you are going to fit a workout into your day to help you lose those unwanted pounds you’ve been carrying around. It can be tough to make a plan that you can stick with as a lifestyle as opposed to some crash commitment that gets lost in the shuffle within a couple of short weeks.
Lucky for you, there are a host of great products on the market that can help you to lose the weight you want without having to sacrifice a lot of your time. This means being able to stick to your hectic lifestyle while also working on yourself to be the best person that you can be.
After all, if you aren’t fit and healthy it’s hard to be of a lot of use to other people around you. This is true both in business and in family life. The following five devices which I’ve used and recommended to clients, are sure to give you that edge you’ve been looking for without putting a cramp in your style:
1. Garmin Forerunner
This is one of the most popular weight loss and fitness devices on the market because of its features. The watch comes with a built in GPS receiver which records your position, your speed and pace, and distance. The watch also records how many calories you are burning at any given time.
It comes with an auto-lap function and it’s easy to use, so you can simply pull it out of your bag and throw it on when you know you’ll be walking awhile or when it’s time for a run. No more money and time consuming devices are needed for your weight loss endeavors once you get your hands on the Garmin Forerunner.
2. Lose It!
The Lose It! system allows you to set a daily calorie budget for yourself and helps you to easily stay within that budget without having to spend any time doing calculations. The system gets you connected to peers for the support that you need to stay on track, and offers motivational tools that offer a better chance at success in the long run. It’s easy to customize in order to get a plan that works with your busy schedule at work and at home.
This might seem like a pretty obvious tool to many, but most people don’t realize that you can get a scale which not only tallies your current weight, but will tell you your BMI, your body fat percentage, and other aspects of health that you usually don’t get to keep track of unless you head to the doctor. Investing in a scale with multiple readouts will save you some of those checkups and help you to keep better track of your health from the comfort of your own home or office.
A pedometer is just what you need if you are into running, sprinting, or walking for weight loss. All you need is a little time after dinner or before work (or during lunch!) and a pedometer in order to keep track of your progress. Experts note that taking 10,000 steps per day is a good way to work toward fitness and a pedometer allows you to effortlessly track this information which means less time calculating your progress and more time to get those reports done for work.
Fitbit is another great tool that will help you to keep track of your weight loss progress. This activity and sleep tracker doesn’t miss a beat no matter how busy your day gets. It measures every step you take, every stair you climb, your accumulative distance traveled, and your calories burned within a given day or week’s time. It has a silent alarm to help remind you when it’s time to get moving, and it syncs with your computer for easy progress monitoring. Sync your weight loss report when you sync your work reports!
All of these devices will be incorporated in the “Shed the Pounds” Coaching program. Registration and sign-up begins next week. Stay tuned.
