In 2014, I had reached a point of frustration with the excess weight I was carrying. I weighed 238 lbs and was ready to drop it as fast as I could. I started noticing a number of struggles I faced daily because of the weight. My daily commute from Baltimore to Washington DC became more difficult each day. I started missing the train a lot more due to the fact that I had to take many breaks walking/running from my car to the commuter train stop. It seemed like it didn’t take much for me to get winded. I had to shop for larger sized clothing which was a huge disappointment. To top it all off, I was suffering from Rheumatoid Arthritis that seemed to get worse with the added weight I was carrying.
I was tired of being obese and decided to try and solve the weight problem with Lap-Band Surgery. The Lap-Band surgeon informed me that in order to be a candidate for the surgery, I needed two abnormalities to qualify. The outcome was that I had none! I was really disappointed, but refused to give up on losing the weight. In the summer of 2014, I decided to hire a personal trainer. It was none other than Walter Lewis. Since he had considered himself to be a weight loss expert, I decided to give him a try. I saw his dramatic before and after photos, but still was uncertain if it would work for me. Fast forward two years later; I am now 60 lbs lighter. At the age of 56, I feel better than ever. I don’t experience as many flare ups with my arthritis as I use to when I was heavier. I can now keep up with the young ladies and men at bootcamp and run 3 miles. How did I get here? I attend personal training sessions with Walter once a week. I also attend his Sunday bootcamp every week. I have been a participant in his Body Transformation Program since January 2016. I am now 23 lbs away from my goal weight of 155 lbs and have no intention of quitting! Walter most certainly has a great track record of helping clients lose weight, even if they think they can’t do it without having surgery. I will continue to train with him and participate in his fitness programs because it has been a tremendous part of me losing my weight! Thank you Walter.
